Using the Update Manager Utility to Reconfigure Update Manager

The Update Manger Utility is installed when you install Update Manager or UMDS, and can be found in the installation directory, by default – ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\Infrastructure\Update Manager’. It can be used to allow you to reconfigure the following settings:

  • Proxy Settings
  • Database Settings (DB User and Password)
  • Re-Register Update Manager with vCenter
  • SSL Certificate

When you run VMwareUpdateManagerUtility.exe you will be prompted to authenticate:

Once you have logged in, you will see the following, from which you can make whatever configuration changes are required:
